JUDO IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM

WHAT WE DELIVER

REMI at Kano comp

We are a mobile Judo School delivering tailored judo sessions before and during school hours. The Judo Schools program aim to teach the students hands-on throws, ground self-defense techniques, simple Japanese terminology used in the sport and history of the sport, which can be transferred into a classroom setting.

Each session includes game-based learning and FUNdamentals delivery style keeping students engaged throughout the whole session. We focus on keeping the students physically active throughout the session, making it fun and engaging for all students. Judo is an sport where students work in pairs to perform the skills in each session.

Classroom to the mat – This program can follow learning from the classroom of judo history and terminology onto the mat during our practical sessions.

Life Skills Students come out of the sessions more self-confident, resilient and respectful of others. It promotes an anti-bullying environment and children will learn to fall safely.

IN-TERM WEEKLY PROGRAM


INTRODUCTORY SESSION

 

Weekly 30 to 60 minute sessions typically run over a period of 4 to 10 weeks on our judo mats delivered by a qualified coach. The classes build on skills learned each week with the aim to improve their basic falling and self-defense skills and knowledge of the Judo moral code.

One-day long sessions, 2 to 6 hours in duration, usually split into various groups of 10-30 students throughout the day to match your class schedule. These sessions aim to introduce students into martial arts and Judo as a fun sport. These sessions will involve brief history of the sport, some terminology but with a heavy focus on students being physically active while attempting safe self-defense techniques.
